MISSION
Creating preconditions for quality management development in Koprivnica Križevci County through implementation, monitoring and reporting on implementation of County strategic documents and development of partnerships between public, economic and civil sector stakeholders and the academic community.
PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica-Križevci County is a regional coordinator and central institution for coordination of development in Koprivnica-Križevci County.
ABOUT THE ORGANISATION
PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica-Križevci County is the legal successor of the Center for Entrepreneurship of Koprivnica-Križevci County. It was established on the basis of the Law on Institutions and the Decision of the County Assembly of the Koprivnica Križevci County. It is registered in the Court Register of the Commercial Court in Bjelovar and since January 19th 2007 it has been operating as a “PORA” Development Agency of Podravina and Prigorje for the promotion and implementation of development activities in the County of Koprivnica-Križevci. In 2018 PORA changed its name in PORA Regional Development Agency of Koprivnica-Križevci County.
One of the main tasks of PORA is to provide professional and advisory assistance in preparation of new projects for public institutions, municipalites, schools and other institutions in Koprivnica Križevci County, so from October 2016, PORA has provided the assistance in preparation of many new projects for municipalites, cities, and all other institiutions from Koprivnica Križevci County. Besides preparation, PORA also provides assistance in the implementation of projects for municipalities, cities and institutions from Koprivnica Križevci County. Currently, there are 16 employees in PORA.
Besides the development projects, PORA co-ordinates the implementation of strategic documents at local and regional level, co-ordinates and participates in the preparation of county strategic development documents and co-ordinates local level development

4. PROMOTION OF KOPRIVNICA KRIŽEVCI COUNTY

PORA Regional development agency of Koprivnica Križevci County continuously co-operates with entrepreneurial supporting institutions and all relevant stakeholders on national and county level.
Some of the services provided for the entrepreneurs during the 2018 were:
- informing and advising of the entrepreneurs about tenders opened from national and EU funds, providing information on starting up a business, non-refundable supports and available credit lines,
- organizing educations – seminars, info workshops etc. for entrepreneurs and other stakeholders,
preparation and implementation of projects for entrepreneurs (during 2018, PORA prepared and implemented 17 projects for entrepreneurs).
Many lessons have been learned during the implementation of the ATM for SME’s project. Besides all of the good practices concerning different ways of microfinance through micro loans and other ways of financial support, valuable lessons concerning non-financial support were shown as well. This is very important because besides the financial help, it is also neccesary to provide to the entreprenurs non-financial help, such as advising them when starting their own bussiness, because when an unemployed person is trying to open up his own bussiness, the most important thing is to get the information and initial help such as mentoring and coaching. Through project ATM for SME’s project partners introduced a lot of innovative ways to provide the non-financial assistance, which was especially interesting.
